Aurora, also known as Sleeping Beauty, is the protagonist of Disney's 1959 animated feature film, Sleeping Beauty. She makes a brief cameo in Descendants during Ben's coronation. She is Queen Leah and King Stefan's daughter, Prince Phillip's wife, and the mother of Audrey, as well as the queen of Auroria.

Aurora as she appears originally in Sleeping Beauty (Blue dress).
When Aurara was a baby, she was cursed by Maleficent, bewitching her so that when she turned sixteen she would prick herself on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die instantly. The fairy Merryweather managed to counteract the spell so that she did not die, but rather fell into a deep sleep from which she would awaken with true love's first kiss.
To avoid taking risks, the Three Good Fairies raised the princess in the forest under the name Briar Rose and pretending to be her aunts. On the day of her sixteenth birthday, she met a young man whom she promised to meet again that same night, but the Three Fairies told him the truth about her true identity and took her to her parents' castle. her.
But once there, Maleficent made the curse come true after Aurora pricked herself with the spindle. Fortunately, the boy that Aurora met, who turned out to be Prince Phillip, was taken by the fairies to where Aurora was resting, and he was able to wake her up with a kiss. Afterwards, Aurora was happily reunited with her parents, and danced with Phillip during the celebration.
Descendants[]
She is seen along with Phillip on Family Day at Auradon Prep. Later, she appears behind Audrey and Queen Leah during the coronation of Ben, again alongside her husband Phillip. She is also one of the heroes to have an image in the Auradon Cathedral.

- Aurora's name means "sunrise" or "dawn" in Latin.
- She is rarely mentioned by name in Descendants media, being commonly called by the nickname "Sleeping Beauty" by others.
- Princess Aurora is the second of the Disney Princesses to be royal by birth, after Snow White.
- She was the only Disney Princess that has never talked with the villain of her film although she was tricked by Maleficent's spinning wheel.
